Newton, born in England in 1642, was one of the greatest scientists Europe has ever produced in the domain of physics and mathematics. But his multiple talents, far from being limited to these two subjects, were much more far reaching, and included, among other things, theology, philosophy, history, politics and alchemy.
Alain Marbeuf carefully explores each of these facets, with the aim of uniting them; he explains in particular that alchemy was more than just a past-time for this great man, but a guiding principle.
