Sursum Corda, an initiatory novel, tells the story of a meeting between two 18th Century initiates. The first, Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin, an eminent member of the mysterious Order of the Elected-Cohens, really existed. The second, Guillaume de Martignas, is an imaginary character. Over the course of their three interviews, they discuss the Kabbalah, alchemy and theurgy at length. Xavier Cuvelier-Roy blends intrigue and essential texts of western esotericism while initiating us into secret sciences. He thereby introduces the reader to the philosophy of Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin, by presenting it in the form of dialogue. This initiatory novel is completed with the republication of an untraceable text: the biographical account on Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin, written by Jean-Baptiste-Modeste Gence in 1824.
