The Mirror of simple and annihilated souls reveals a spiritual wealth which puts its author Marguerite Porete in the ranks of St John of the Cross, Meister Echkart or Hadewijch d'Anvers. Is Love really subject to something other than itself? Could that be morality, religion, or God himself?
