This work, translated into French for the first time, represents an event in esoteric literature. It author, Michael Maier, was born in Germany in 1569. A doctor of medicine and philosophy, he entered the service of Emperor Rudolph II of Austria, himself a devotee of esotericism. Humanist, poet, mathematician, Michael Maier wrote a number of works and was common to English and German Rosicrucian circles.
