What is alchemy? It is an undertaking of research. And what is being researched? Oneself. How are we to find ourselves? By forming a bridge between what is conscious and what is not. This bridge is alchemy, which leads to complete self-knowledge. It therefore is not know-how but art which takes us on a step by step journey to our centre, where the light can be found. This is one of the most commonly discussed alchemical texts. Its composition can be dated back to the first half of the 14th Century, but it has lost none of its relevance, as in the 20th Century, C.G. Jung used the engravings which illustrate this treatise as a means of supporting his reflection on the Psychology of Transference. To open this work is to immerse oneself in the language of symbols and images which bring us into contact with the life of the soul.
