Cervantes recounts the adventures of this anti-hero who sets of to save the world. Naive and deluded due to what he has read in chivalric fiction, he reinvents the world and retreats to a live within his dreams. Accompanied by Sancho Panza, his faithful squire, he does battle with flocks of sheep, which he mistakes for an enemy army, fights with windmills, which he mistakes for giants. Taken for a mad man, he is widely mocked but is devoted to his search for perfection. The two heroes, Don Quijote and Sancho Panza, experience “adventures” which leave them wiser with every new page.
